• Puppetry

  • 1 - designing and building 

  • 2 - growth mindset: continue to improve concepts and puppets 

  • 3 - videos and concepts are sharable (no-copy right) 

  • 4 - use a puppets in a hook (very entertaining) 

  • 5 - writing is different and allows them to do almost anything and have TON of fun 

  • 6 - low risk, high reward 

  • Have materials pre made to speed up puppet making time

• Makerspace

  • Space in the school/classroom that it is a STEM art room 

  • Fire starters - meant to ignite critical thinning 

    • Bucket of loose parts - stick and stones, recyclables

    • Exciting prompt that is aligned to the loose parts (how might you build a metaphor for the emotional journey you character might take) 

    • Answer and make prompt in a certain amount of time

  • Low floor, high ceiling 

  • Great to students that struggle with writing

•  Literary Food Truck​

  • Read a novel with a class, and student create a food truck for a character or text 

    • What would their food truck look like? 

    • What would the menu be? 

    • Who else would work in the truck? 

    • Student would make a poster, menu, staff and an explanation 

  • Students must show intention and explain why they choose what they did 

  • Could do a potluck with meal tickets where student connect the characters with their food trucks 

  • Can also work very well with any topic, like a country, landscape, animal, etc
